Rewards Redemption
In the earlier section, we saw how a cardholder can earn reward points using the IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card. Let us now understand how to redeem the reward points. The Fuel Points have to be redeemed through the IndianOil XTRAREWARDS Program. It is Indian Oil Corporation’s loyalty program to reward individuals shopping from select retail outlets.
The XTRA REWARD points are loyalty points offered by Indian Oil Corporation. So, the Fuel Points earned on the IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card must be converted into XTRA REWARD points on www.rblrewards.com or at an Indian Oil petrol pump POS machine. The XTRA REWARD points can then be redeemed at Indian Oil petrol pumps against fuel purchases.
Let us understand the Fuel Points conversion to XTRA REWARD points.
3 Fuel Points = 5 XTRA REWARD points
The cardholder earns 15 Fuel Points/Rs. 100 spent
Therefore, 15 Fuel Points = 25 XTRA REWARD points
Value of 1 XTRA REWARD points = Rs. 0.30
Value of 25 XTRA REWARD points = 25 X Rs. 0.30 = Rs. 7.5
Therefore, 15 Fuel Points = 25 XTRA REWARD points = Rs. 7.5
As the value of 15 Fuel Points = Rs. 7.5, the value of 1 Fuel Point = Rs. 0.50
The cardholder earns 15 Fuel Points (equivalent to Rs. 7.5) for every Rs. 100 spent, translating into a 7.5% reward rate. Adding the 1% fuel surcharge waiver gives an 8.5% value back. Thus, a cardholder earns a total 8.5% value back on every Rs. 100 spent with the IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card. With an 8.5% value back, the IndianOil RBL Bank XTRA Credit Card is one of the best fuel cards in India.
The Fuel Points conversion to XTRA REWARD points can be done at a POS terminal at the Indian Oil petrol pump. The cardholder can place a request for points conversion. The points conversion will be done within 48 hours, and you will receive an SMS confirmation from Indian Oil. The XTRA REWARD points can then be redeemed against fuel purchases at an Indian Oil XTRAREWARDS Program Participating Outlet.
The other option is to redeem Fuel Points on the RBL Bank’s reward portal (www.rblrewards.com). The value of each Fuel Point for redemption on the RBL Bank rewards portal is Rs. 0.1.
The reward points have a validity of 2 years from the date of credit.
Additional Features
The cardholder gets a 1% fuel surcharge waiver at Indian Oil petrol pumps for transactions between Rs. 500 and Rs. 4,000. The maximum waiver that can be earned in a month is Rs. 200.
The surcharge will be levied at the time of the fuel purchase transaction. Later, the surcharge will be reversed for eligible transactions. A consolidated reversal of the surcharge amount will be processed on the 23rd of every month, and the amount will be reflected in the cardholder’s statement. The GST levied on the surcharge amount will not be reversed.
